I am a PhD student in Sociology at McGill University, where I study social intervention designs in India and their broader implications for international development practice. My research examines why NGOs working closely with the state and private donors often neglect context sensitivity and prioritize standardized, techno-managerial models, despite widespread recognition of the importance of locally grounded implementation. More broadly, I analyze emerging trends in global philanthropy and firm-led development, focusing on how philanthrocapitalist approaches reshape organizational practices and equity outcomes in the Global South. Alongside my doctoral research, I serve as a teaching assistant at McGill and bring prior experience working with non-profits in India. I am committed to advancing critical, evidence-based scholarship that strengthens socially just international development policy and practice.
