Nidhi Tandon is an independent development consultant from East Africa (Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya) based out of Toronto, who specializes in working with rural communities to support their livelihoods. Her experience draws from a cross-section of designing and facilitating capacity development programs, conducting impact assessments and working with women and their agencies to articulate and organise around their priorities. In the last nine years, her focus has revolved around sustainable farming systems and rural livelihoods, ecological biodiversity and rural land use, public commons, water, energy, natural resources, food security and related trade policy, resource mobilization, financing and accountability decisions in the context of climate change. Nidhi is a social activist, animator and writer working with women and with marginalized communities to raise their voices in a globalized economy. Nidhi’s firm, Networked Intelligence for Development - completed a comprehensive review of the MDGs in the three sectors last year for the Commonwealth Secretariat.
