World University Service of Canada (WUSC) has been preliminarily approved for the implementation of a research study as part of the global Girls’ Education Challenge (GEC). The project that has been preliminarily approved is entitled the Feasibility Study for Strengthening transition and resilience of orphaned girls (STRONG) Project. The STRONG Project is designed to support vulnerable orphaned girls in Afghanistan, including girls with disabilities, to improve their learning outcomes and transition to informal or formal schooling, as well as to strengthen the governance and coordination of key actors at the government and community level.
Nature and Scope:
The Safeguarding Consultant will assess and strengthen organizational capacities on child/disability safeguarding and child rights protection for WUSC and its downstream partner organization. This feasibility study will entail that both WUSC and its downstream partners work with highly vulnerable individuals and therefore it is essential that systems, policies and procedures are effective in safeguarding these individuals against harm, through the implementation of research or delivery of services.
