About the position

R.J. Burnside International Limited is submitting a proposal for a consulting assignment in Grenada entitled "Mt. Williams Dam Construction Project in the South-East of Grenada".

The general objective of this consultancy service is to carry out feasibility studies, preliminary designs and cost estimates of options for water supply for the South-East part of the island. The assignment includes assessing two existing dams and two existing water treatment plants. The assignment also includes detailed design of the selected option(s), tender document preparation and construction supervision.  There is also an ESIA component. The Terms of Reference for the assignment as a whole are attached.

We are looking for a person to be full time for the duration of the project (a 3 to 4 year period), preferably stationed primarily in Grenada, as the Project Manager/Team Leader for the assignment to oversee the work of the project team and have primary responsibility for all deliverables.  He/she will also have a key role in engaging with the Client and other stakeholders. He/she will also be involved in in capacity building and training.

The experience required is as follows:

The Project Manager shall be a Registered or Chartered Civil Engineer, preferably with relevant postgraduate training. He/she must have at least twenty (20) years of cumulative experience related to dam construction and design studies. The Project Manager must have had, in the last ten (10) years, specific experience in managing consultancy teams working on feasibility studies and detailed engineering design in at least two dam projects of similar size and complexity. He/she should be experienced in the tropical context, preferably in projects in the Caribbean. He/she must be fluent in English.

The anticipated start date is mid-December, 2021.
