Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) invites applications for a Project Coordinator to join our West Africa/Middle East North Africa (WA/MENA) program team. The Project Coordinator will provide support to the WA/MENA program team, in developing new business opportunities, coordinating team communications and providing consulting and support to MEDA's various international development projects. The Project Coordinator will report to the Senior Director for the region. 

 

  • Job Status: Full-time, permanent
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Location: Waterloo (Head Office) preferred

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Facilitate coordination and communication among all members of the regional program team, including those in other office locations.  
  • Provide assistance in the research, development and preparation of proposals as required.
  • Assist and coordinate preparation of quarterly reports and the annual planning process for the department.
  • Assist with prospecting and new business development with new and existing clients, institutional donors, foundations and governments. 
  • Provide assistance to coordinate, edit, write and research donor reports that are accurate and delivered on a timely basis.
  • Participate in short-term consulting services as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: University degree, ideally a Masters’, in Business Administration, International Economic Development or related field. 

Experience: Minimum of two year’s work experience, with at least six months overseas, in an economic development program in one of more of these areas: rural development, youth or gender programming or microfinance. 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Appreciation and support of MEDA’s faith, values and goals.
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in French and English.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel.  
  • Familiarity with bi and multi-lateral governmental agencies, donors, non-governmental organizations and other development agencies.
  • Highly skilled in computerized document preparation and formatting, excel, desktop publishing and internet research.
  • Strong team building, relational, interpersonal and communication abilities and skills. .
