Program Manager, Gender Programming – ISS

As a member of the Integrated Support Services team, the Program Manager – Gender Programming will have primary responsibility for integrating gender mainstreaming strategies and policies. In addition to delivering training, technical assistance and resources/tools, this position provides support to MEDA’s evaluation and impact assessment efforts. The Program Manager will also provide leadership in the areas of Gender Programming to MEDA’s international projects and to partners. This position provides support to the international product lines to mainstream and integrate standardized gender programming policies, strategies and interventions. The position may also provide program related support to other areas within MEDA as required. This position is located in Waterloo, Ontario and requires international travel of 90-100 days a year.

Qualifications

  • Masters-level university degree in economic development, women’s studies or related field or an equivalency acquired through formal education, work experience and self – learning.
  • Minimum two years of professional overseas experience in international and/or economic development.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and experience in gender mainstreaming and programming including gender analysis/assessment, developing/implementing gender strategies, developing tools and conducting training.
  • Demonstrated experience in and/or ability to learn measurement and evaluation as it relates to gender programming
  • Strong team building, relational, interpersonal and communication abilities and skills
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in and with a wide range of cultures and in varying international locales.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fluid and dynamic environment and to adopt to new challenges.
  • Demonstrated written and analytical skills in program design.
  • Efficiency in organizing and prioritizing several tasks at once. Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
