Cowater is currently recruiting for a long-term Field-based Team Leader for a governance project in Pakistan. The Team Leader is responsible for managing a team of local and international staff in the planning, delivery and monitoring of project activities. This includes overall responsibility for the achievement of Project results; overall management of the project's progress and staff in Pakistan; and, overall responsibility for the financial accounting of the Project field expenses.
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in development or management.
- At least 15 years of experience in international development, with 10 years working in a developing country - South Asia, or Pakistan would be an asset.
- At least 10 years experience in leading large and complex projects.
- At least 8 years supervising large teams (50 or more staff)
- Proven capabilities in proactive management, enabling s/he to react to daily problems.
- Proven ability to interact with very senior government officials.
- Ability to bridge hierarchical gaps and promote participation, communication and joint action.
- Results oriented management style with a strong ability to innovate and strategize.
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and cultural sensitivity.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience in a volatile environment
