Brief Description
CLIC is seeking a Lead Evaluator with expertise in international relations, social sciences, and peacebuilding & conflict studies to oversee evaluations of development and peacebuilding interventions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in gender equality and youth empowerment, along with a solid understanding of the WPS (Women, Peace, and Security) and YPS (Youth, Peace, and Security) agendas.
Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct comprehensive evaluations for various development and peacebuilding programs.
- Utilize mixed methods research and participatory approaches that are sensitive to gender and youth issues.
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports, presenting findings, insights, and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with other UN agencies, particularly the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF), to align evaluation strategies and outcomes.
- Lead and mentor a team of evaluators, ensuring high-quality outputs and adherence to timelines.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as social sciences, international relations, political science, peace and conflict studies.
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in designing and conducting evaluations in development or peacebuilding settings.
- Proven experience in gender equality and youth empowerment initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge and practice in mixed methods research and gender and youth-sensitive participatory approaches.
- Demonstrated proficiency in report writing.
- Professional fluency in English
- Fluency in French and/or Spanish is a strong asset
- Previous work experience within the UN system, specifically with the PBF.
