Senior Management Position
Position Title: Iraq Country Director
Years of Experience: Minimum 10 years
Salary: Commensurate with Experience (Salary plus package including performance bonus)
Contract: 2 years renewable
Nationality: Open to most qualified candidate
Job Context
CLIC is recruiting a Country Director for its Iraq Office. The CD is an experienced, mature, independent and entrepreneurial person eager to achieve great results. CLIC is looking to grow its portfolio of projects and services in Iraq, the CD will lead its staff and associates in achieving their objectives. This is a challenging job in a challenging market, therfore, the applicants will need to be ready to utilize all their skills, experience and capabilities to meet CLIC’s objectives in Iraq.

This position is for someone who is a fluent Arabic speaking professional and who has impeccable English language skills.
About CLIC
CLIC is a consulting firm headquartered in Ottawa, Canada. It is managed by a team of professionals with varying skills and sectoral expertise. CLIC is managing projects in Iraq, Jordan, Mozambique, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Eastern Caribbean and Mongolia. We have implemented projects in South Sudan, Kenya, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Jordan and several other countries. Our clients include the Government of Canada, the Government of Iraq, GIZ, the World Bank, national governments, the United Nations and other multilateral and bilateral agencies and international organizations.
CLIC has been present in Iraq since 2008, and currently has offices in Baghdad and Erbil. CLIC has over 30 staff working on various projects in Iraq, believes that Iraq has high growth potential and opportunities and is well placed to serve this market. We are providing project management services, monitoring and evaluation, training and other consulting services.
Strategic Direction
CLIC is looking for a candidate who will lead its teams to implement its strategic plan in Iraq. CLIC Iraq strategy foresees CLIC becoming one of the most effective and respected consulting firms in Iraq. The Country Director will achieve these results through the lens of our values of integrity and inclusion.
Strategic Objectives:
- Localize CLIC as a leading consultng firm in Iraq, and develop the capacities and capabilities of our local staff to achieve objectives
- Diversify CLIC client base in Iraq
- Increase CLIC portfolio of services in Iraq by focusing on transformational projects
Duties and responsibilities:
- Implement strategic plan
- Provides advice and leads on development of new service lines
- Meet assigned targets and tactical objectives within established deadlines
- Human resources management
- Business development, public relations and marketing
- Project management oversight
- Continous improvement of systems and processes
- Representation of CLIC with government and at all relevant departments and associaitons
- Financial management including managing third party auditors
- Reporting to HQ
Demonstrable Experience:
- Minimum 10 years experience in consulting management and/or senior position in international development and/ consulting agencies;
- Minimum 5 years in managing human resources (staff and consultants);
- Minimum 5 years in business development
- Minimum 5 years of proposal writing
Skills and abilities:
- Strong skills in motivating and guiding staff and colleagues
- Demonstrable skills and ahievements in Business Development and proposal writing
- Very strong financial management skills
- Exceptional follow up skills
- Problem solving skills
- Impeccable English and Arabic language skills in writing and speaking.

Education
Minimum a master’s degree in business, economics, international development, and public administration or relevant discipline.
About the selection process:
CLIC will vet the candidates that meet our criteria, after which successful candidates will be required to go through a testing process. All references will be contacted. This position is a senior position that comes with great responsibility. The Country Director Position is (will become) part of the senior management team and will have a corporate role at HQ as well. The final candidate will undergo a series of interviews prior to his/her being offered this position.
