Our International Youth Internship positions for 2019 are now open!
We have positions in the areas of social enterprise, digital outreach, gender equity, early childhood education, alumni programming, public health education focused on AIDS and HIV awareness and on-line learning support.
Most positions require minimal to no technical experience, this is a chance to work in an area connected to your field of education or an area that you have personal strengths or experience. We are looking for individuals who are flexible, adaptable, versatile and independent who are looking for a unique opportunity to build experience and skills working in another culture.
Bow Valley College, in partnership with College of the Rockies and Selkirk College now have our 2019 International Internship Positions open through Global Affairs Canada’s funded International Youth Internship Program(IYIP). As part of the Government’s Youth Employment Strategy, IYIP is designed to offer Canadian post-secondary graduates the opportunity to gain professional and intercultural experience through international development work.
There are a total of 26 currently internships available with two positions pending in countries in Africa, the Caribbean and South America.
The internships positions are a commitment of six months overseas plus two weeks for Pre-departure and Re-integration training.
Interns receive a monthly stipend to help support their living costs overseas.
The program for 2019 is from approx. the middle of May to end of November. Please refer to each institution’s website for more specific information on program dates.
We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, responsible, versatile and candidates ages 19-30, who are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents and have completed post-secondary education at minimum a diploma level (having graduated no later than May 2018).
