Description
As a Human Resources Business Partner for a client portfolio, you will provide frontline integrated HR solutions for all levels of IDRC staff in Ottawa. In particular, you will make a difference by providing strategic HR leadership, advice and guidance to directors, managers and employees and by putting creative solutions in place to meet operational challenges, and to add strategic value. You will partner with clients in a diverse range of areas such as: workforce planning, job classification and organizational design, international and national talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, performance management and employee relations.
 
Candidate Profile  
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or other related fields
• Professional HR designation is an asset 
 
Experience
• Five years of experience in providing strategic advice and guidance to all levels of staff  in the areas of workforce planning, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management and employee relations
• Experience recruiting at an international level is an asset
 
Language
• Bilingual position (English and French) at an advanced level
 
Knowledge
• In-depth knowledge of human resources trends, disciplines and best practices
• Broad knowledge and understanding of relevant HR legislation, policies and processes
• Comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives including  organizational plans and strategies
• Understanding of international development and recruitment is an asset

• Excellent interpersonal skills, discretion and diplomacy
• Ability to think strategically and analyze complex situations
• Sound judgment in providing strategic advice and recommendations
• Strong verbal communication skills which influence and inform as well as writing abilities to produce high quality documents

• Team player and ability to establish and maintain a professional network
• Client-service orientation
 
Additional Information
Although this is a permanent position, we will consider a secondment.
