Citizen Engagement for Effective Social Service Delivery, Phase III (CESSD III), currently operating in 11 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province, is a multi-sectoral capacity building initiative working at the community, district, and provincial levels to improve the supply of, and access to basic social services (education, health care, and water supply). All of these services are also critical to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and KP Comprehensive Development Strategy. CESSD is funded by the Australian Government Department Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Responsibilities
The CESSD Sector Advisor - Education position is a 50 day contract over one-year based partly in Pakistan (Peshawar) and partly home-based, to assist designing an overall approach for CESSD education sector component, in line with project documents. The sectoral approach will draw from needs analysis and capacity assessments of staff, implementing partners (IPs) and other key stakeholders (including client). The Education Advisor will provide technical guidance on an on-going basis to the sectoral team and will contribute to the development of project's documents.
Selection Criteria
- Senior professional who brings at least 15 years of work experience in international development consulting, project management, and project implementation, in the area of education
- Post-Graduate degree(s) and/or professional qualification(s) in a field relevant to education
- Full fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing fluency is mandatory
- Experience using results based management (RBM) tools for international development project management
- Experience working with international donors including: DFAT (formerly AusAID), DFATD (formerly CIDA), WB, ADB, AfDB, GIZ, DFID, etc.
