UN taxes / tax consultant

Hi all,

I've recently joined as a member to CAIDP and there seems to be a wealth of relevant info on here - thank you all for that. I would be grateful if someone can assist me on the following;

I currently work for UNDP under a PSA agreement (similar to SSA) which is salaried and monthly. I don't live in Canada yet but will be moving back this summer, and so I have a few questions re this; while the PSA contract states I am a contractor, we all know that this kind of income is typically non-deliverable based and a bit different to the short-term or consulting contracts with the UN. Does anyone know if this income is tax exempt in Canada, especially, Ontario? While this is not a staff contract, it very much resembles employment income as opposed to business income due to the nature of the relationship between myself and UNDP, where I have a 9-5, report to a specific person who is staff within the organization, and receive a monthly salary that is not attached to deliverables per-se. Any advice on this is appreciated.

Additionally, I also see that many have recommended John Lunn to reach out to. I don't live in Canada yet so it is difficult for me to reach out to him, and his "request form" on the website does not seem to work, so I am unsure if my attempts at contacting him has gone through. Does anyone have an email for him that I could reach out to him/his firm on? Thanks so much.

Best wishes,

Supraja
