COVID-19 Response: the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-invitation to CAIDP members

Date of the event

For CAIDP members only, we have partnered with the Canadian Trade Commissioners Service of the Embassy of Canada in Washington, for a webinar event on “COVID-19 Response: the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB)”, on Thursday, June 25th at 2:00 p.m. Invitations to register, will go out early next week. As the webinar will have limited “seats”, only members that are currently prepared and interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, will receive an invitation for the webinar. Currently, the WB and ADB are seeking items that can detect, prevent and respond to coronavirus, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). A non-exhaustive list follows:

  • All types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and, infection prevention and control (IPC) consumables
  • Clinical care and laboratory equipment: portable ventilators, oxygen concentrators, ultrasound machines, pulse oximeter, etc.
  • Testing kits and supplies
  • Vaccines and therapeutics, once available
  • Technical assistance: updating and reviewing national plans and costs, human resources for response, expertise for development and training of front-line responders

Given the above, you would also need to have already made a commitment to export internationally, already have a basic knowledge of the IFIs and, have the current capacity to meet the needs that the WB and the ADB are seeking. Please note, this webinar will not cover post-COVID opportunities, only the urgent needs of borrowing member countries in response to the global pandemic.

At this time, if you meet these criteria and would like to receive an invitation, please send us your information so that we can share it with the webinar hosts, by  Thrusday, June 18. Although there is no limit to how many members express interest in being invited, due to limited capacity only the first responders who register via the forthcoming invitation link (before we reach maximum capacity), will receive a link to join the webinar.

If you are interested but cannot join the upcoming webinar (or do not register before “seating” capacity is met), we will share with you the webinar presentations and recording, after the conclusion of the event.

To receive an invitation to attend the session please send your Name, Job title, Organization/Affiliation, and Email address to nicole.leguerrier@caidp-rpcdi.ca
