Carleton’s Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS) program is an innovative, multi-disciplinary, program that welcomed its first students in 2015. The goal of the program is to educate active and engaged global citizens by producing a global mindset—an approach to the world that encourages immersion in new places, cultures and languages. As part of the undergraduate Honours program, it is mandatory for students to complete an International Experience Requirement. The Chris H. Braeuel Bursary for Global and International Studies will allow students in need to complete this component and gain real-world experience, regardless of financial barriers.
This year, we hope to raise an additional $10,000 in funding, to help provide students with more support towards their international experience. We would like to request your support this Giving Tuesday (December 3rd only), as Carleton University will be matching the first $500,000 in gifts dollar-for-dollar (up to $10,000 per donation). There is no overhead change on donations so that 100% of the proceeds go directly towards the Bursary.

As the recipient of the 2017 Carleton Alumni Humanitarian Award, CAIDP member Chris Braeuel gravitated towards establishing this award based on his desire to support students in value-added ways over the long-term. Through his cumulative knowledge and experience in over 80 countries spanning 6 continents, Chris continues to serve with passion and commitment and enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with students as a Mentor.
