You’ll come away from this exciting, interactive session with realistic and practical approaches to mitigating risks and ensuring the safety and security of your team and yourself. Session Objective: |
This session will explore best practices in aid security management systems including using the Security Management Framework: key concepts and principles in security management; assessing and reducing risk; the role of informed consent in risk mitigation; techniques for risk assessment and establishing threat levels; developing security protocols; and managing security crises. |

Biography(ies): |
Scott Ruddick, Director of Security, MEDA Scott Ruddick is Director of Security with the Mennonite Economic Development Associates, based in Waterloo, Canada. Working closely with all project offices, he manages global security systems for MEDA's programming. Scott has extensive practical experience in risk analysis, security systems development and crisis management planning in an aid and humanitarian context. He travels extensively to high-risk locales to put in place security management systems and processes. His fifteen years of experience across five continents is underpinned by Board certification in security management, an MBA and a Diploma in Law Enforcement.
