Hussein Amery, CEO and Managing Director of Integrated Development Enterprise Associates Inc. (IDEA) |
Objective: |
This session will support participants to gain an understanding of the IFI Bidding process and the key components and necessary ingredients for preparing a competitive proposal. Using the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Consulting Management System (CMS) as an example, participants will learn the process for expressing interest, getting short listed and contents of technical proposals. Developing business by participating in tenders offered by International Financial Institutions (IFIs) can produce many opportunities for organizational and professional growth and development, while increasing the long term sustainability of your efforts. Preparing success bids depends on your willingness to invest time and effort over a longer period of time and participating in numerous tender opportunities. Offering excellence in delivery of technical assistance, high value added products and services that bring lasting benefits, including knowledge and technology transfer, are keys to success. To gain entry into the market, partnering, taking on small projects and assignments will gain experience and a track record that will enhance opportunities for competitive bidding. Strong country knowledge and understanding of the operations, funding mechanisms and bidding processes of donors is necessary to develop effective proposals and bidding teams. And strong and growing competition in the global market from national companies and consultants in developing countries requires competitive financial proposals. |
