Join us on March 8th to celebrate International Women's Day!
We are hosting renowned women innovators and researchers from around the world to offer insights from their experience and their thinking about the impact of innovation on women’s economic empowerment and gender equality. Despite increasing numbers of women with higher education, in some countries the number of women working in innovation and technology sectors has fallen, while in others women are leaving the field altogether. This raises the question: is innovation sexist? Panel - Is Innovation Sexist? Helani Galpaya, Chief Executive Officer, LIRNEasia; Dr. Nozipho Motsa, University of Zululand; Dr. Cecilia Rocha, Director of the School of Nutrition, Ryerson University; and Tabitha Gathoni Mundia, 2009 Alumni of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, will examine what innovation means for women and what women mean for innovation by sharing their experiences from Sri Lanka, South Africa, Brazil, Vietnam and Kenya. They will explore the personal and systemic challenges women face in driving innovation, as well as debate what unique strengths women bring to innovation eco-systems and what makes them hopeful about the future of innovation.
