The Canadian Association of International Development Professionals (CAIDP) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Board Coordinator. The Board Coordinator will assist in the day-to-day operations and management of the association. 

The Board Coordinator will work to implement programming, communicate to members and partners, and engage policy makers and political leaders through each of the association’s five sub-committees: Executive, Conference and Programming, External Relations, Membership Marketing and Communications, and IT and Digital Communications. 

The Board Coordinator ensures continuity and supports the smooth functioning of sub-committees, which are composed of volunteers from both the Board and membership. The Board Coordinator is responsible to the Board and its sub-committees to support effective governance and stewardship of its financial and human resources.

Activities

The principal duties of the Board Coordinator consist of supporting the Board and its sub-committees to fulfill their mandates and annual work plans, which are developed within the context of CAIDP’s approved five-year strategic plans

Qualifications

The CAIDP Board is looking for a well-organized, English French bilingual professional who can support CAIDP in all its activities including events operations and management, reporting and communications, member / partner engagement, records and reporting and digital engagement. The ideal candidate will possess recent and direct experience in:

  • Office management and administration.
  • Marketing, development, and fund-raising.
  • Digital communications, website, and social media management.
  • Board and executive coordination, non-profits, and volunteer board management.
  • International affairs and global development.

Terms

The compensation rate is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Board Coordinator is an independent contractor, working from home and with flexible hours / scheduling. The level of effort is estimated at 15 hours to 21 hours per week, up to a maximum of 780 hours per year. The Board Coordinator will supply their own technology and office equipment. 

The initial appointment is for a period of two years, renewable.
