Registration for the 2015 CAIDP-CCIC Conference is Coming Soon!
Next week will see the launch of the website and registrations for our annual conference which is shaping up to be the best ever. This is our second year collaborating with the Canadian Council for International Cooperation (CCIC) to produce International Cooperation Days 2015. This year we are looking at where development is going under the theme "Universal Goals, Canadian Challenges."
The conference will feature our usual two days (March 13 and 14) of keynote addresses, plenary events and workshops designed to provide Canadian development professionals the practical information, advice and connections they need to succeed. We have organized the sessions into three streams: 1) new trends in development, 2) skills and capacity building and 3) the business of development The conference is to offer Canadian development professionals the practical information, advice and connections they need to succeed under the new agenda.
Guest speakers are coming from across Canada and around the globe, from noted thinkers to representatives of bilateral, multilateral and inter-governmental institutions -- have a look at the website. But only some of the details have been confirmed and there are negotiations underway for some really exciting sessions that we can't announce yet but that you will not want to miss.
In addition, other activities are growing up around the conference. DFATD has confirmed its willingness to discuss holding a structured dialogue with our community "in proximity" to the conference on March 12, so watch for more details on this as they emerge. The University of Ottawa is building on the successful pre-conference public event and reception of last year on the evening of March 12. In fact, the relaunched International Cooperation Days has proven popular in the wider Canadian community: more than 40 other organizations have been invited to participate and many of them will be at the conference. Interest has been so great that we have had to move into a bigger venue: the Palais des Congres in Gatineau. So if you want to combine the conference with marketing visits to 200 Promenade du Portage you won't even have to step outside.
Again this year, you can enjoy great savings by booking early, and you can save even more by buying the Conference and Membership Combo pack at the reduced early bird price! You can buy passes for all three days, two days or one day but the three day combo is definitely the best value. And this year, CCIC is inviting CAIDP members to attend the gala dinner at the lower "friends of CCIC" price.
Dialogue with DFATD, dinner and dancing, and lots of discussions, networking and learning about development: this year's International Cooperation Days are not to be missed.
